Ok, Franklin was going GREAT I must say until the damn sleeves. It is totally bugging me and eating my lunch at the same time.
The sleeves in the pattern are knit with no shaping, which means that the circumference the biceps are going to be the same as the wrists. Having a small wrist, 9", I'm not going to have another 9" of ease!!
So, I am decided to start small and taper the sleeves. The problem is, I have ripped the darn thing out like 5 times already trying to find the best increase to use for a 2x2 rib WHILE maintaining the integrity of the damn ribbing.
HOW DO YOU DO THAT?
Any words of wisdom?? I'm going to cry!

That's a tough one. I can't think of anything that would be particularly appealing, but if you increase at the edges of the sweater, it'll be at the seam and most likely not visible when you're wearing the sweater.
I'm blocking mine as I speak and can take some pictures when it's dry (hopefully tomorrow afternoon) to show you how the sleeve is behaving after being blocked.
That's the way I handle it--what Yarndude said. It really isn't that bad of a solution. Press on! You can make this work. I have faith in you, Kenny.
The ribbed sweater I'm working on right now (2x2 ribbing) has tapered sleeves. If you remind me, I can pull out the directions tonight, when I'm at home, and let you know what they say on how to increase in the rib.
How i would do it.
K2, (increase)P2...(increase) k2
then K2, increase, K1, P2...K1, Increase, K2
then K2, Increase k2, p2...p2, K2, increase
then K2, increase p1, K2....K2, P1, increase K2.
when you sew the seam, there will be at places, 6 knit stitches in bunch.. but it will work.. you'll have a straight edge for seaming and a neat V of ribs.
just inc along the seam and have the increase st be what it would be to maintain the pattern. i did this in my top down raglan. really easy, just see what the last st before the edging was (i would keep 1 or 2 sts as a knit edging so your seam will be neat) and do a Linc or Rinc ala cat bordhi in the sock book.
cry on my shoulder
