The Back

So, this is just a quick post...... just wanted to update you guys and let you know, that NO, I didn't disappear again.

I've been busy. This is the back of Franklin, which is coming out really nicely in my opinion.

I am very happy that I took the time to fiddle with the 2x2 ribbed cast on and using another technique that hides the color change purl bumps on the right side of the piece.

Some would say that this is a boring knit, but boring is what I need right now. With all the stuff that's going on in my life, sometimes it's just nice to sit and knit and watch tv without even needing to look down at your knitting.

How is everyone else doing?

I agree about Franklin. I'm on the second sleeve now, and find the "boring" to be very welcome, and I have yet to grow tired of the mindless 2x2 ribbing.

I'm swamped at work. But that's a hard thing to complain about when so many are unemployed.

Word verification is "flablin", which is how I feel these days.

We all need a Franklin in our knitting lives, every now and then. Yours is looking really great. Thanks for the update.

My word verification is pothell, btw. That's what my kitchen looks like after I cook for a party--pot hell.

I agree about having something easy to knit. I actually prefer that most of it be that way. I want to do (at least) 2 things at once.

Looks very promising - and the edging is great!

Boring can be very good sometimes. I'm hoping I enjoy it as much as you did when I start my own ribbed sweater soon. Your back looks great! The fiddling with the cast on was definitely worth it.

As much as I love a challenging cable sweater, I could do stockinette, garter or rib forever (in a nice yarn!!) and be very happy.

Enjoy!!
